The Health Equity SIG Presents: Pilot of Appetite Awareness Intervention to Improve Weight Loss Maintenance for Racially Diverse Adults with Emotional Eating (SATISFY Study)
The Society of Behavioral Medicine’s 44th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions happened in Phoenix, AZ, from April 26-29, 2023. The theme of the meeting was “Translating Science into Impact.” Meeting sessions showcased success stories in translating behavioral science into real-world impact and prepared attendees to overcome barriers and increase the impact of their work. The world needs behavioral medicine now more than ever. On April 27, 2023, the LFL team presented our SATISFY study by the private investigator, Dr. Goode. The presentation discussed the findings and results of the pilot study. The SATISFY Study was feasible and acceptable, with preliminary changes in interoceptive awareness, reduced emotional eating, and weight gain prevention. After our time at the conference, we visited one of the most beautiful natural places in the world, the Grand Canyon.
